Continental Continental For sale are a pair of lovely budgerigar figurines from a continental producer, possibly Samson. Both are decorated exquisitely with gilding forming the majority of the colouring, although the detail on the rest of the paintwork is quite excellent. Offered for sale in a condition that is probably quite normal for their age and style, there are some issues that need to be pointed out. Firstly there are a few nibbles to the encrusted flowers which is very common, plus some usual wear to the gilding, more noticeable on the wings and beaks. Overall though these are a very striking pair with subtle differences. I am confident that whoever purchases these will be delighted. They measure approximately 17cm high and to the underside are unmarked but they have the gold anchor to the rear of their bases (pleas e see pics).
