This item is a super Royal Doulton character jug, "Granny" was designed by Harry Fenton, the model was introduced in 1941 and retired in 1983, this is version 2, the model with a single front tooth resting on her lower lip, the model number was D5521, but I believe that the A on this one indicates an early model offerred before the pattern number was printed on the base, this is supported by the early version of the backstamp that was only used up to 1937. The character jug is 6 inches high and about 7.5 inches across, it is in good condition with no chips, cracks, or signs of restoration, the marks underneath are in one of the additional pictures.
