Offered for sale is a museum grade original Weimar period 1931 Regimental Standart for a fire brigade from the small town of Schwebsange in the state of Luxemberg on the German border. This beautiful all hand embriodered on silk flag represented the fire brigade from that town. Schwebsange still exist today, I looked up this town and found that this area still uses the same colors as is this rare flag..red,white and blue. NOT to be confused with a French flag as the colors are vertical on a French flag. I have to say this most likely is a one of a kind flag for that town. Has light age with some mnor seperation/fraying in a couple of places only. The hand work on this flag is super!! All gold fringe is intact as is the upper and lower snap clips and outer rope loop for displaying the flag in a upright position. Very cool! Large size approx 4 feet by 5 feet. The flag has a quilt like material inside flag to give it some body. Very vibrant colors still after over 80 years. These hand made Regimental flags are very rare as any Regimental hand embriodered flag on silk is hard to find todayand usually comand big prices 3k and up.
