SUPERB 19C GERMAN/BERLIN HAND-PAINTED PORCELAIN PLAQUE-VIRGIN MARY & BABY JESUS A lovely 19th century German/Berlin porcelain oval plaque depicting the Blessed Virgin mary and the infant Jesus, both with haloes. The BVM's experssion is particularly delightfully rendered by the artist. It is presented in bably its original frame but the little fold-over bits of metal have fallen off to be replaced by a rather makeshift arrangement of wire, but it works! Suspension loop to top of frame. Impressed 'K' and '15' to reverse. Sorry if it looks more round than oval - blame my camera! Plaque on its own measures 8cm tall, but in frame measures 9cm to suspension loop. One of three beautiful plaques I am currently listing.
