If you are a collector of rare vintage 35mm cameras, then this superb, early 1950's Balda 1 camera is one not to miss. This Balda camera was one of the earliest in the range as it does not come with a light meter, but is the more sought after, as it comes with the better f2.8 Westanar lens. The camera was of course made in West Germany. Having inspected the camera fully, I can find only a few defects which are described accurately above. A small dent to the viewfinder rim / top of the camera immediately above, and very slight lifting to the edges of the leatherette on the reverse back cover. The shutter is firing perfectly and has speeds ranging from B, 1, 2, 4, 8, 15, 30, 60 125, and 300th of a second. The shutter and film are wound on in the same movement of a folding key in the bottom of the camera. The lens is beautiful and unmarked and is the more sought after Isco Gottingen Westanar F2.8. The lens leaf blades are mark and oil free. The camera comes with the original leather case which has signs of use on it's base but is otherwise lovely. The camera also comes complete with it's original instruction book. This is in fair condition, showing much wear and creasing. However, all the pages remain and the book is perfectly readable. To complete the set, the camera comes with a cable release which of course can be used read more
