Description A superb antique late Victorian solid sterling silver vesta/match case decorated with beautiful rare floral engraving by the silversmith William Neale and with English silver hallmarks for Chester 1900 . Lovely quality example with hinged silver lid and a serrated silver striker on the base. No added inscriptions or monograms and complete with original large silver bale ring. Measurements Measures approx 1.8 inches (47mm) x 1.4 inches (34mm) and is 0.35 inches (9mm) deep. Date Full set of English silver hallmarks for Chester 1900 (date letter "R"). Matching hallmarks on vesta and lid. Maker William Neale (W.N). Condition Good condition, no splits or cracks to the silver, no repairs, and no nasty knocks or dents either, has some tiny pin-head sized dents/bruises on the reverse , nothing at all bad and would probably polish out fine, (see last photo).
