Description A superb large matching pair of Antique late Victorian solid sterling silver candlesticks by the silversmiths William Hutton & Sons Ltd and with full English silver hallmarks for Sheffield 1901. Beautiful quality pair measuring over 7.4 inches in height, a classic early 18th Century Georgian design, with shaped and stepped bases and with attractive turned stems. Both have their original removable silver hallmarked sconces too. Weighted bases and importantly with no engraved presentation inscriptions or monograms. Weight Very Heavy 1119 grams , (including base weighting). Measurements Good large pair, they measure approx 7.4 inches (185mm) inches in height and are 4.3 inches (110mm) x 4.3 inches (110mm) across the bases. Date Antique Victorian Solid Sterling silver with a f ull set of English silver hallmarks for Sheffield 1901 (date letter "i"). Includes the "crown" stamp of the Sheffield assay office and also the "Lion passant" Sterling mark. Marks are rubbed but are readable .
