A superb large silver cased centre seconds chronograph pocket watch, with a signed fusee lever movement 'John Wilson of Ossett', dating to c1895, in good condition and good working order, keeping good time. The large silver case is in good condition, hinges tight and covers snap shut. The case is hallmarked for Chester, 1895/6, initials 'RG' (for Robert Gravenor, case maker, Coventry) and numbered '95947' which matches the movement number. The case is 58mm overall diameter ignoring the stem, and the watch weighs 174g. The enamel dial is in good condition, a couple of very faint hairlines at the bottom in the outer chapter ring, it is marked 'JOHN WILSON, OSSETT'. The convex bevelled glass crystal has a few light scratches. The jewelled fusee lever movement is in excellent condition and good working order, keeping good time (runs strongly for the full length of the chain). The movement is marked 'John Wilson, OSSETT' and numbered '95947'. The side button locks the centre seconds when activated, this is in good working order (move the button up to stop and back down to re-start). The movement is key wind and set which work fine, modern key included. Great watch.
