Let me start my saying that I went through many m43 field jackets before I found this one. I purchased this at a garage sale in GJ, Colorado from the son of the veteran that wore this. The soldier was an officer holding the rank of major. Evidence of this is the pin spots w the rank was pinned to the shoulder straps. This must have been his review or inspection jacket as it shows no wear what so ever, t are no sweat stains on sleeves or in the arm pits. The only thing that keeps this from being mint, unissued as t are a few storage snags, on on lower left pocket (under a cm wide) and a few on arm as shown, as well as evidence of rank being pinned on. All buttons are intact, no fraying or wear any place (other than snags) With ww2 cothing I get asked once in a while especially by bidders outside the us, if an item is a reproduction. This piece is not, it is garanteed ww2 era made for life. It has a 22 inch chest (measured across chest from arm pit to arm pit. The spec tag in lower right pocket (if you are wearing it) is perfect and of course legiable (again no wear) This had to be one of the first made.
