Superb Puffy HeartsWalter LamplHeart-Shaped Padlock OPENS w/KEY1930s-40sSilver Charms This incredible bracelet is filled with an excellent collection of 1930s-40s sterling puffy heart charms. Several of these répoussé charms are quite rare. The period motifs are intricately and deeply detailed. Several of the hearts are hand-engraved on the reverse with period names such as: Riley, Whittey, Bonnie, Betty-Jo, and Daddy. The hearts with the USA Eagle and FORGET ME NOT fronts have Walter Lampl Hallmarks on their reverses. The hearts are in excellent condition; however several do have minor age appropriate imperfections as seen in the detailed photos. The bracelet links feature a period motif that is a perfect complement to these romantic charms. It measures about 6¾” in length and has a secure heart-shaped padlock. The heart-shaped padlock is decorated on the front with a period répoussé scroll design. The reverse remains unengraved. The lock is secure and opens with a key. A puffy charm is fashioned from a thin sheet of silver or gold. It is embossed or formed with a répoussé process and seamed, leaving the inside of the charm hollow. This makes the charm very lightweight and "puffy”. Often the charms are embellished with hand-engraving and additional chasing to enhance the details. This bracelet is from the estate of Joan Munkacsi.
