An excellent & restored c. late 1920’s/early 1930’s Waterman’s Red Ripple Hard Rubber lever-fill fountain pen with a gold-filled cap band, ring-top & 14k gold nib. Excluding the ring-top, the pen measures 11cm capped with a cap diameter of 1.22cm.The nib & lever are marked as shown in the photos. The end of the barrel is stamped ‘52v’ whilst the barrel imprint is mostly very faint & even with a loupe, it’s difficult to make out much more than ‘Waterman’s Reg… Fountain…’For a used pen around 80 years old, it’s in excellent condition with no obvious plating loss, nicks or surface scratches. The quality, detail & finish of the pen are evidenced by the fact the red ripple/wood-grain effect extends not only to the cap & barrel but also the feed & even part of the nib section which never sees the light of day except when the pen is re-sacced. The pen has been serviced, a new sac & internal pressure bar fitted & writes with what I’d say is a semi-flex Fine nib.A highly desirable & collectable pen in great condition. Offered at a low starting price without any reserve. Thanks for looking & good luck if bidding.
