A very high quality sterlingsilver tea strainer. It is hallmarked with a 930 standard mark (i.e. actually highergrade than sterling silver) and the makers mark of Friedrich Reusswig of Hanau Germany recorded as working from 1903 until 1926. I would date this piece to c1905. It has been exquisitely cast with scenes depicting cherubs blowing on conch shell horns amongst flowers surrounding a maiden playing a harp. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits holes and repairs. It measures 4.5 inches (11.5cms) long by 3 inches (7.5cms) wide and being cast weighs 47 grams. A very fine quality beautiful example. I am currently listing other interesting and unusual silver including Hanau Pieces - to take a look simply Check out my other items !
