PLEASE NOTE This is brooch is being re-listed as I made an error in the description. The pin is not original as stated in the first listing. This is a beautiful quality silver Victorian Scottish crown and saltire Scottish agate brooch. The design is very Scottish and the silver work is superb!I have collected agates in Scotland for over 20 years and know where most of the lovely gemstones that Victorians used for their classic jewellery were found. There are a classic selection of Scottish stones with Orange Campsie fells jasper from Stirlingshire and green and red speckled bloodstone from the Isle of Rum on the west coast of Scotland. The brooch has no hallmarks which is fairly normal for brooches of this period, but has been fully tested and is silver. The length is 4.1 cm. The pin and C clasp are in good working condition although the pin is not original as it has a base plaque. The brooch has the original owners initials engraved on the back which are HJB.
