Double your traffic. I am proud to have the opportunity to offer for sale this superb Empire Mahogany and Feathered Mahogany Tall Chest on Chest circa 1840. This is a magnificent chest that offers an abundance of storage! This fine chest measures 65 1/4 inches tall,49 1/2 inches wide and 22 1/2 inches deep and weighs approximately 200 lbs. We believe this chest to have its rich original finish and it does have the original wood pulls. This large chest rests on four large bun type feet and offers beautiful open scroll carvings of palm leaf & nuts on each side of the main body of the chest. This large chest offers six large storage drawers with early period dove-tailed ends, with the second drawer being a rather deep drawer offering three divided compartments, and all the original handmade locks are intact but we do not have the key.There is an age shrinkage crack (close-up shown in pictures) on the very top of the chest and on the right lower side that is not uncommon with pieces of this age but it does not affect the integrity of this piece at all. The top portion of this chest does lift off the base to aid in easier handling during moving and shipping. This chest is superb quality, and is solid and very sturdy and has a commanding presence all of its own!
