Earrings 7/8" in diameter with a 3/8" high point in the center. Rather like inverted arty bottle caps in appearance. Candy-striped glass tops are not identical to one another in their striping. Each is gem cut. The flaws are these: (1) There is a little marking, like a squiggle, at the way back of each "gem," as if they are foiled. (2) Gold plating is in really good though not perfect condition. Unfortunately, the earrings are so reflective in photographs that all sorts of other things are showing up and the little issues are masked. The plating thing is as if someone with an oily thumb touched the back, and then you wiped it off with a tissue but the outline of the dark oil stayed on. Barely there. Both clips are marked Carnegie. Care Store wrapped in acid-free tissue in a non-oak container. Keep dry, particularly rhinestones. When necessary to shine a rhinestone, clean with a little window cleaner on a q-tip and quickly dry. Never throw a vintage piece in a drawer or onto a table top. That's how scratches and chips appear. These lovely pieces from the 40s and 50s are American treasures, and there won't be any more of them.
