we have the one of the nicest wool blankets available anyw It is Swiss Army surplus and of unknown vintage. It measures about 58" x 80" and has the red stripe with white swiss cross on both ends. Yours may or may not have a metal slug attatched (stamped onto it) with a serial number on it. I have recently spotted these in a popular "luxury goods" catalog associated with a certain film festival for $299!!! It would look great on the back of nearly any sofa and have an excellent backwoods lake cabin appeal to it. Of the dozens we have sold, I have only seen one that had a tear that was extremely well repaired. Many seem to have gone unused. 100% wool, of course and quite soft, despite its woolen nature. Also great for emergencies, camping, rescue, etc. FYI: We have several of these and will not be photographing them individually. They are all in excellent shape and we'll inspect them to be sure prior to shipping. They have letters and numbers stitched into them on one corner which I believe indicates the year of manufacture. I am not willing to go through them to pick out specific years. I have seen them range from the 1930s to the 1950s. Your's may also vary in size by an inch or two. Excellent, authentic stuff!
