ATTENTION SWITCH BINDING FANS: If you're a SWITCH binding user, you know that this was the best boot/binding set up ever invented, and you can't imagine snowboarding without them. The Special-N bindings have not been manufactured for several years (since mega-corporation Vans bought SWITCH and essentially put them out of business); they are just about impossible to find anywhere at any price. This is a rare opportunity that may not become available again after this year. If you already use Special-N or Team-N step-in bindings, you know that the Switch boot/snowboard interface was the best binding system ever developed . These Special-N bindings would also be a huge, direct upgrade if you're currently using A-33, A-65, A-66, A-85, A-88, A-95 or Standard-N bindings. These last sold for $279 (around 2004 or 2005), and new Special-N bindings can no longer be found at any price in any shop! These have been used, but they are in good functional condition. These do NOT include the original SWITCH stomp pad or leash, but they are otherwise complete and ready to use with the bindings, rotor disk, base gaskets, screws, leash and users manual (as shown in the picture.) I have included detailed pictures of the binding frames and cam/lever/lock so that you can clearly see the condition. Two features made the Special-N and Team-N bindings the best design that SWITCH ever made. Primarily, the cut-away cam/lever (SWITCH called it the Fang-Lock) meant that it was nearly impossible for snow to clog the mechanism or freeze the cam in the locked position. Only three models ever featured this specific design: the A-99, the Special-N, and the Team-N bindings listed here. I've been snowboarding for over 25 years (not a typo!), I have degrees in science and engineering, and I taught snowboarding for three years in a resort on Mt. Hood, Oregon; I'm absolutely convinced that the SWITCH step-in binding was the best design ever invented. Don't take my word for it; ask anyone you see using SWITCH bindings, and they'll tell you the same story. Not enough evidence? Note that Industrial Design magazine gave its annual award to SWITCH Manufacturing for the N-Type binding in 1999. Do you need a pair of SWITCH-compatible boots to use with these bindings? Contact me; I keep track of SWITCH-compatible boots, and I can often find some for my customers. Since these haven't been made in about 5 years, prices for good used boots are running about $100-$200, and new (old stock) boots are selling for about $150-$250 in popular sizes. If you have an unusual size, you're in luck! I can often find good boots in sizes less than about 9.5 or larger than about 12 for lower prices. Note that the Special-N and Team-N bindings do NOT have a size; this binding is compatible with any SWITCH-compatible boot made after about 1998. A few years ago, after I found out that Vans/SWITCH was going to stop production of these bindings, I bought a couple of cases of the TEAM-N bindings. I'm going to sell some of these on eBay, at about half of the last retail price .
