This Scottish Claymore type sword is the one often attributed to the great 13th Century Freedom Fighter, William Wallace, more popularly known as BRAVEHEART...This sword is representative of the one used in the movie except that this is a real sword and not a prop...It is all carbon steel with a 42 inch hollow ground blade true to the period type...It is 56 inches long with an 11 1/4 inch cross hilt...It is a two handed weapon weighing 6.5 lbs...The grip and blade hilt are leather wrapped...The blade is sharpened to the touch and can be honed for cutting exercises...This is an historically correct, real sword and has the heft and thrust of an authentic Medieval Scottish broad sword...It uses a quick release back scabbard of the period...These are available from several makers for reenactment play...This is a awesome broadsword...Extreme quality and heft...Excellent !
