Hello, you are bidding on a vintage Pre Pro pottery beer mug was made for Bartels Brewing Co. Syracuse, New York by the Chittenango Pottery Company. It measures 5 in. tall x 5 in. wide to handles edge and it is in excellent condition. This Brewery Advertising mug has "Bartel Beer" on one side and a pub scene on the other side of this brown glazed vessel. Herman Bartel moved to Syracuse, as brewer for the Haberle Brewing Company . He was then 37 years old, and ready to settle down. After working six years for Haberle, Bartels purchased the seven year old Germania brewery from John Greenway in the spring of 1893 . During the next year, he changed the name to Bartels Brewing Company , and added ales and porter to the product lines. Chittenango pottery is a historic pottery located at Chittenango , Madison County, New York . The site includes two large brick buildings that were constructed in 1898-1899 for the Chittenango Pottery Company I'm selling off remnants of a Breweriana collection (Heavily Syracuse N.Y.).
