Syracuse China Roxbury Red / Kansas City Southern Railroad 8" Salad Plates 4 Pc Syracuse China Roxbury Red / Kansas City Southern Railroad 8" Salad Plates 4 Pc Excellent used condition, showing very minor utensil marks from usage. No chips or cracks. From what I've read, I believe these dishes are about 40 years old. The Roxbury Red pattern is what was called an open stock china pattern. So, the pattern was available to restaurants, hotels; basically any commercial company could buy it. However, what made this pattern famous was that it was used by the Kansas City Southern Railroad. Dining car china is highly collectible and becoming increasingly rare. These plates were made in Syracuse, NY, USA Please examine all photos very carefully, NOTE: any glare or spots are on photos only from the flash, they do not appear on the item.
