TAILSPIN TOMMY was first a newspaper comic strip hero, then a big-little book hero and a comic book hero, and lastly a pulp hero. Published under partnership with Harold Hersey, a pulp publisher with grand ideas and little money, Tailspin Tommy was one of three comic strip heroes brought to life on the pulp page. Dan Dunn and Flash Gordon was part of the three titles along with Tailspin Tommy, but poor distribution killed the magazine series. ON WINGS OF DISASTER Fighting the elements and ornery planes was Tailspin Tommy's everyday life-and he needed a rest away from it. But he never expected he would be side-slipped right into a hornet's nest of smuggler and killer grief that would try him to the limit.
