You are bidding on a lot of TWO books: TALES OF SUSPENSE , issues #9 and #12! published in May & Nov 1960, respectively Issue 9 contains the earliest Marvel prototype of Iron Man, which relaunched the entire Marvel franchise, leading to the most awesome the Avengers ! These are Golden Age : pre-superhero books . Tales of Suspense is the same series that first launched the key Marvel franchises of both Iron Man and Captain America, long before they got their own series... and eventually movies! See my other auctions for more awesome superhero-era Tales of Suspense titles (scroll down for link). Issue 9 is a really nice example of the printing, a key piece of Iron Man history . I've had these since I was a kid, when my friends and I formed a comics club and exclusively collected Avengers and all the individual hero books: Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Hulk, Doctor Strange, etc. Now MY kids are heading off to college, and its time to get these beautiful books into your hands. In the coming days I will be listing 100s of Golden, Silver, and Modern age Marvels, all from the core series. I'm not a professional grader but I'd say that #9 is in Very Good condition, and #12 in Good condition, esp. given that they are both more than 50 years old!
