Offered for sale is a beautiful and TALL antique glass vase from an unknown maker. The pattern features a single red poppy set against a fishnet textured background. The flower appears only on the front of the vase; The back shows only the raised fishnet texture (picture 2). The gold color is painted or washed on the inside of the vase, while the red is painted on the outside, on the poppy flower only. This vase dates from the early 1900s.This vase stands ~14 inches (35.6cm) tall at the rim. It is shown with a U.S. quarter in the first three pictures to give an accurate impression of the size at a glance. This is a lovely antique goofus glass vase for your collection!The vase has no chips, cracks or scratches in the glass. The painted decoration on the inside AND outside has some wear, and the gold paint in particular is missing around the sides of the vase , although it seems intact on the poppy design (picture 3). I think it was applied in a thin wash rather than thickly painted on. It is still in good condition considering its age and the fragility of goofus paint.All my items are from a SMOKE FREE home.
