Greetings. You are bidding on a hard cover book titled “EDGAR RICE BURROUGHS’ TARZAN IN COLOR Volume 18 (1949-1950)” by Burne Hogarth (series edited by Bill Blackbeard). Publication Information : This hardcover book was published in 1997 by NBM (Flying Buttress Classics Library). The book is 14” tall, 10.25” wide. I believe the book to be a first (and only) edition/printing with a print run of 500; the printing history is unstated on the rear of the title page. The original price of the book ($37.50) is printed on the rear dust jacket panel. The ISBN number is 1-56163-165-5. English language. Reprints Tarzan Sunday comic strip pages nos. 971 through 1019 (originally published 1949-1950) in full color. All art is by Burne Hogarth. The complete Foster and Hogarth Tarzan Sunday strips were reprinted by NBM in 19 volumes numbered 1-18 and 15B. It appears that the first 14 volumes had a print run of 2500 copies each. Volumes 15-18 and 15B had a print run of 500 copies each. Hal Foster’s work on the strip was printed in Volumes 1-5 (he left for Prince Valiant in 1937) and Hogarth’s work was printed in Volumes 6-18. The work of Rubimor (Reuben Moriera) was printed in Volume 15B (partially in Vol. 15 as well; Hogarth left the strip for a year or for Drag o). A rare volume from a truly wonderful set of comic strip reprint books. This read more
