This auction is for a vintage 980 silver 16 inch long necklace handmade in Mexico. The necklace is marked Sterling, Taxco, 980. I live in Southern California and have shown the necklace to a friend who collects Mexican jewelry and a friend who sells Mexican jewelry and the first person they first thought of was Margot van Voorhies Carr, Margot de Taxco. What do you think? Whoever the silversmith was it's a wonderful bold design. It is well made with a simple but strong hook clasp. I think it was made in the late 1930s or early 1940s. The silver necklace is in excellent vintage condition. Thank you for looking and good luck bidding. Pre-Columbian motifs Art Deco style sterling silver
