This auction is for a pair of vintage earrings with screw backs made by Horacio de la Parra. The earrings are marked on the back of the small top circle Hecho en Mexico D.F. And on the back of the larger circle it is signed Parra, Sterling and has the Eagle number 34. Horacio de la Parra started the firm Conquistador, a large silver manufacturer and retailer. At one time, Conquistador produced items designed by Hector Aguilar and by William Spratling (Morrill and Berk, 1998). I think the earrings are c.1940. The smaller circle is 3/8 inches in diameter. The larger circle is 5/8 inches in diameter. Hanging the earrings measure about 1 3/16 inches top to bottom. The concave part, on the front of the earrings, has been oxidized by the silversmith. I have not tried to polish the earrings. The vintage screw back earrings are in excellent condition. Thank you for looking and good luck bidding.
