Made by Taylor for the U.S. Engineering Corps during WWI . The compass is in nice condition considering it's age. The compass diameter is 1 ¾". The case is made of brass and the inside perimeter of the bezel is made of copper that has a polished finish. The compass needle is a twisted bar style that is wrapped with fine copper wire on the north end and t is a red jewel at the center. The compass is in Excellent Working Condition! The back of the brass case is lightly marked U.S.C.E. the face is marked Taylor . The cover clicks tightly closed and secures the needle in position during transit. T is some tarnish on the brass particularly around the cover hinge and could use a little cleaning but I will leave that up to the winning bidder. An excellent addition to any collection.
