This item comes from my personal baseball collection. After 30 years of baseball card card and sports conventions this is the only example of these I have seen. It is a Ted Williams Boston Red Sox Chess Figurine - he was the Bishop in the Set. This was from a Chess set from the Danberry Mint I believe. The Chess Piece is made of Lead I guess as it is quite heavy and measures 3 1/2 inches tall. It is in it's original state and has some paint chips but is otherwise in good shape. As I understand you could only get one or 2 of these pieces at a time from the Danbury Mint every couple of weeks so it would take years to put a chess set together and a lot of money to boot. In one of the auctions someone indicated they looked for several years to find a Ted Williams so not a common listing. If you are a Ted Williams collector this may be an item you do not have and may never get a chance for another. Very Rare baseball item. E-mail if you have any questions.
