Telefunken Opus 7 radio in mint, original condition . When your user name is telefunkenopus, as mine is, it figures I am a fan of this model. This radio has not been restored because it does not need it. The finish is completely original. It has been kept clean and waxed - that is all. It has had normal maintenance and check ups. For a radio over 50 years old (made in 1956) this is remarkable. It is not perfect (I never use that word), but I think mint is a fair description of a word that is far too loosely used. The wood has only very, very minor marks, t are no scratches, dings, dents, broken or loose veneer, etc. The glass, grill, knobs, etc are like new. The back has a tape mark (factory apllied mistake on nearly every Opus model), even the bottom is fine. Everything works as it should. Tuning action is very smooth (I know the adjustment procedure but not needed), all controls are quiet, positive, smooth. All pushbuttons are fine. A new EM80 tuning eye was installed and is bright and works fine. All other tubes are Telefunken and have been tested fine on a Hickok 539C. Performance on AM and FM are strong. The adjustable AM antenna works great, has built in FM antenna and provision for external antennas. SW works well but is very dependent on many factors including antennas. This is the USA version with FM from 88 - 108 mHz and read more
