Vintage Floor Telescope by Tasco in Box with Accessories, 1956 Model , signed, " Tasco, D=60mm f+910mm Japan", wood tripod, 2 1/2" Air Spaced Objective, lens cap, screw on sun shade, three eyepieces, sun table, two prisms, barlow adaptor, slow motion drives, case: 34 1/2"x8 1/2"x11 1/2" dovetail mahogany. Tasco is famous for a reputation of making Junk telescopes . However, in the early years (this company was started in 1954) they made some very good instruments and this is one. In fact, I tested this completly and was pleasantly surprised. The objective is extremely sharp, even at it's highest power. Note that they even went to the trouble of putting six objective alignment screws on the lens mount. The equatorial mount is all machined from steel and the slow motion action works as good as any expensive telescope I have found. T is no plastic on this telescope, all parts are hand machined and hand assembled from metal. If you are a telescope collector, this should be part of your inventory, but if you wanted to buy it to use, you would not be disappointed, just the opposite. No Reserve. Buyer pays $38 shipping anyw in the USA, Paypal only.
