Stands near the entrance to the Capitol Grounds facing up Pennsylvania Avenue toward the Treasury. Erected in honor of the soldiers and sailors who fell in the Civil War. 2. Statue of "Civilization" on the East Portico of the U.S. Capitol. Photographed by Bell & Bro. Shows a Native American Indian with tomahawk. 3. The White House. Photo G.D. Wakely. 1866.
