(editors): London: Amalgamated Press, . Published as the events of the war unfolded between 1914 and 1919.Profusely illustrated. Large heavy set, each volume 13in x 9.5in. Bound in red hardback with black title lettering on front cover and spine. These were published at different times during the war, so t is variation in the color of red and some spine fading as can be seen in the picture. Covers are VG+ though with no spilts, or tears or breaks, just normal chips, and frays on the edges. They are all tight and the text and illustrations are excellant. An amazing and comprehensive history of World War One published at the time with many, many photographs, maps, drawings of people, equipment, locations etc etc. Sold as a reference set for the scholar and historian . Obviously with a British bias, however they cover ALL FRONTS of the war. These were purchased by an Air Force Surgeon friend of mine in the 1950's in England. He passed them on to me and I have enjoyed them for many hours over the last 10 years, but now the time has come to do some downsizing , so they need a new home. They will take up about 21 inches of shelf space on your bookcase that is 10 inches
