This is a plastic model Thelwell pony which I owned in the early 1970's, fashioned after the Norman Thelwell cartoon ponies in his books. It is a dapple gray molded plastic with a black hair mane. It is in great condition aside from one slight mark on the top of the pony which is covered with the saddle. The pony has a seam through the middle. It is 5 1/2 inches long, 3 1/4 inches high and 2 1/4 inches wide through the middle. The paint is perfect on the eyes and hooves. The hair is also in good condition. T is a red bow at the top of the tail, which is slightly frayed at the ends, and a ribbon on the mane with the Thelwell logo "t". The pony is also branded with the Thelwell "t". It is also stamped ENGLAND underneath the belly along the seam. He is wearing a bridle and reins and comes with a saddle and stirrups which has an elastic strap which snaps underneath the horses belly. Penelope, the rider, also comes with the pony. She is also made of plastic and is in good condition with the exception of the center of her eyes w the paint has rubbed off. This could easily be fixed with a permanent marker which I will let the buyer do. Her lips also look a little smudged. I'm not sure if that was how it originally looked or not. The rest of the paint on her is in great condition. She is 3 1/4 inches tall. She has blond hair pulled back read more
