This beautiful catalog was published in conjunction with a landmark exhibition of the paintings of the important French Barbizon artist Theodore Rousseau (1812-1867), organized by New York's Salander-O'Reilly Galleries in 2002. The catalog consists of 88 pages and features numerous color illustrations of paintings included in the exhibition. The paintings were catalogued by Michel Schulman, the noted French authority on Rousseau and the author of Rousseau's catalogue raisonne . There is also a foreword by Alexander Murphy, an important scholar of the French Barbizon movement.The book is in excellent, lightly used condition, with its original dust jacket completely free of rips or tears.
