We use genuine inductor coils in the classic Tmin design. Digital is great for TV and MP3 but not for a Tmin! All other similar and lower cost Tmins use harsh sounding Integrated Circuit 'chip' designs. The operating principal is essentially the same between the two but Digital Tmins have unusual overtones that sound like someone is singing along off key. Digital Tmins will allow 18 inches of playspace. Not only can you see the difference but you can also hear it! Some Digital Tmins are advertised as Analog! Analog Tmins will have oscillator coils. Digital and Optical 'Tmins' that show a nice looking wave form are simply audio oscillators. It is the combination of two radio frequency signals that create a complex and musically rich wave that will not sound harsh or 'sterile'. It's the circuit INSIDE that makes the difference to give 3 feet of range! T are lots of cheap digital Tmins available. If you want an Analog Tmin because it sounds better, ask if it has inductor coils. Only true Tmins have these parts! If it plugs into an AC outlet, is it UL approved? Are t any unusual or special parts used that are available only from the manufacturer and what is the guarantee? Is t a sound file? If not, ask for one. Only analog Tmins give great low tones! Is the product compliant under Code of Federal Regulations FCC Part 15? All Tmins are radio frequency transmitters. The manufacturer must have the circuit tested in a Government approved lab. (Yes, we did that!) * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * This auction is for one completely assembled "plug and play" Tmaniacs Tmin! Tmin plugs into an amplifier with a standard 1/4 inch guitar cord. It will sit quietly until your hand is about three feet away. As your hand comes nearer to the antenna, the pitch gradually becomes higher until it is inaudible. Covers 7 octaves - from soaring high notes through great growling lows. Tmin is powered by a quality 9 volt alkaline (included). AC adapters will add hum and instability so we only use pure DC battery power! . One alkaline battery will last about 500 hours (several years of average use) and is easy to replace. The sound does not suffer as battery power is consumed during use. Draws only 1 milliamp, far less than ordinary effects pedal. Set it up anyw you want! Tmin is assembled from common components without the use of esoteric parts that may be unobtainable in the future. We do not sand off part numbers! Some manufacturers will hide the component values they use by obliterating the markings making future repairs impossible!
