This auction is for a set of three built-up Bowser HO scale Pennsylvania Railroad 4-bay hopper cars. Ready to run, this set would make a nice gift as a great adddition to the coal train of your favorite model railroader. The first car is lettered for PRR #197710, a class H21a quad hopper. H21's were the most numerous hopper on the Pennsy from the 1910s into the 1950s. This model was constructed with Bowser sideframes for PRR Crown 70-ton trucks, and outfitted with NWSL nickel-silver wheelsets. It has Kadee #5 couplers, and a custom-made coal load. As you can see, it was weathered to reflect heavy service. It weighs 3.6 ounces. The second car is PRR #186197, another class H21a hopper. It has the stock Bowser Crown trucks and wheelsets, with Kadee #5 couplers. It does not have a load; as such it weighs only 2.05 ounces. The buyer could add weight and a load if they so desire. It was more heavily weathered than the first H21. The third car is PRR #904663, a class H22a four-bay hopper. The H22s started life in dedicated coke service. As that traffic dwindled, they were rebuilt at the top to close the coke-loading openings and thus increase the capacity for carrying coal. When rebuilt, they were re-classed as H22a. This model represents one of these unusual-looking H22a cars. It has Kadee #5 couplers, and Kadee wheelsets riding in
