It’s not often that you find three of these soup bowls together and in such good condition. They are simply spectacular when displayed, as I’ve done with them for the past 35 years.I believe these soup/salad bowls are “Mercer’s” MC5 pattern, made by “Mercer Pottery,” Trenton, NJ in, I think, the late 1800s (I‘ve seen this pattern called “Luzerne“ elsew on the internet but could not verify that name). The bowls are in very good condition with no chips, cracks, or restorations. The white is quite bright on the bowls and a wonderful contrast to the blue leaves, flowers and stems. All have gold along the scalloped edges (One apparently was used more often because it has less than the others). The blue on one of the bowls “flows” a bit more than the others (The blue shows on the bottom of that bowl, too, as you can see from the picture with the “Mercer Pottery“ mark). Each of the bowls has light crazing (normal for pieces over 100 years old) and a few little glazing imperfections. They are about 9.25” in diameter and about 1.5” high.On the back is the “Mercer Pottery” mark with “Semi Vitreous“ noted.I will ship the bowls double-boxed.Please feel free to ask any questions before bidding.I will email buyer within 24 hours after the auction ends and expect a reply within three days of auction end.Buyer pays postal costs only (no handling fee), read more
