This collection of Limoges Castel mid-to-late 1970s Cobalt Blue porcelain boxes comes with the original box and Limoges leaflet/certificate for each one. They each feature a picture on the lid. The largest box, oval in shape and measuring appx 5” x 3” x 2” high, has a Fragnard picture appearing cameo-style, in full pastel color against a 2”-diameter round white background encircled with gold frills. The next smaller box, rectangular in shape and measuring appx 2 3/8” x 1 3/4” x 1 1/4” high, has a picture in 22k gold covering the entire lid, featuring a woman on a swing and a man offering her something, surrounded by foliage and with birds in the sky. The inside of the lid says, “J’aime penser a toi” (“I think of you”) The third box has the same 22k gold picture on the lid as the middle box. It’s an irregular ovoid shape, as pictured, and measures 2 3/8” x 1 3/4” x a little over 1” and says “Pour toi avec amour” (“For you with love”) in gold script on the inside of the lid. All three boxes are also decorated on the sides with 22k gold. There is no evidence, whatsoever, of any damage to any of them. This would make a wonderful Valentine’s Day gift!
