This Is a rare version of the Arnold Jeep produced in "U.S. Zone Western Germany" as stated on the gear case cover on the bottom of the Jeep. The "C" on the sides and the hood stands for the "Constabulary Police" which occupied Germany after the war. A truly interesting collectible given its rarity and historical value. I've never seen any Constabulary unit toys like this. This one was produced in 1949 as the front bumper shows. This is different from the common 002500 Military Police Jeep because it is the 002600 and has "C" markings and designs.I picked it up at an estate sale some years ago and was given a little briefing on the toy, but last month I searched for more information and was sent a page from a Tin Jeep toy book from a collector in Germany. The third picture shows the page I was sent and states the these Jeeps are worth 700 Euros without a box, 1200 euros with the box. This one is in great shape but has had the windshield repaired by a pro toy restorer (the way I bought it). The back bench may have been repainted because I see some paint strokes, but it matches the front seats perfectly. The spare wheel has a green plastic hub. I'm not sure if the Military Police Figures are original but they sure go well in the Jeep. The rear license plate reads J-2500 US ARMY 1953 whereas the front says P2600 US ARMY 1949. To be read more
