Up for Bid...... Tirschenreuth "Baronesse" Sugar Bowl & Lid This is a beautiful piece! Nice translucence, no cracks, nic's, chips, crazing or discoloration. It truly is like new. The bowl and lid have an embossed delicate design, nicely shaped, with open work on the bowl handles and lid. Even the bottom of the bowl also has an embossed design. The backstamp reads; 1812 Tirschenreuth Bavaria Germany Baronesse (c) The bowl measures approx 3 1/2" at the top, and 3 3/4" at the bottom. With the lid the piece stands just under 4" high. I have used this as my 'company' sugar bowl for several years. I have to credit it's excellent condition today to the workmanship and design of the piece. It is delicate in style, but very user friendly with the bowl handles that easily allow space for (even a man sized) finger grip, and the lid ornament that is also large enough for a safe grip. This avoids those unnecessary little accidents that chip and ding so many sugar bowls. Please feel free to ask any questions.
