This item is a RARE offering of Titleist 591 cavity back iron set withGraphite shaft, stiff flex. Titleist 591 is a forged iron set that came out of Titleist’s joint venture relationship in 1999 with Miura of Japan, a forged iron specialist that is widely regarded as the best in the world for its quality, consistency, and feel. Tiger Woods used Miura forged irons when he was a Titleist staff player. Iron 591 was designed by Titleist and expertly forged by Miura. Unlike most irons manufactured these days, this iron set was entirely manufactured in Japan, as is the case for all Miura products to date. As with all Miura irons, the lofts in 591 are precise to the specifications (35 deg for 7 iron) - Miura does not believe in getting more distance out of irons by delofting beyond specifications. The iron is somewhat more forgiving than typical Titleist blade irons but will keep you honest by giving you good feedback on both good and bad ball contacts. This is perhaps the last of the golden era in player’s iron designs under major brands like Titleist and is unlike most mass produced irons that you see in the market today. The shaft is Titleist Graphite HP-83, Stiff Flex, as can be seen in the picture. The grip is standard Golf Pride in good condition.
