Known as the "T" medal was issued to Australian,British,Indian,New Zealand and Polish soldiers whom were in action during the Siege of Tobruk. It is a very fine medal,The "T" letter was used to make it apparent that Tobruk was the city under siege and the 2nd Battalion of"The Black Watch(The Royal Highlanders) William Cargill were also there and he was promoted to the rank of Corporal. The siege lasted for 240 days up to 27th November 1941 when they were relieved by the Allied 8th army and william went on to serve in Crete and Syria and then became a chindit in the Far East against the Japanese in 1944,a Warrant Officer and superb leader of men he went on to be awarded The Distinguished Conduct Medal..
