Offered for sale is my beautiful, Japanese made, Tokai ES-120. This is a top quality replica of the Gibson 335 with a flamed maple top, back & sides and a glued in mahogany neck. Era correct tunomatic bridge, repro tuners & a pair of Gotoh MK2 PAFs. The build quality is up to Tokai's usual exemplary standards, the quality of the woods are top notch with some lovely subtle flaming & a beautifully grained rosewood fingerboard. The guitar is set up with a low action & plays effortlessly, all the classic 335 tones are there & the Gotoh pickups are a sleeping giant - great vintage PAF tone. The guitar is @ 10 years old, whilst it's not mint it is in excellent condition with just a few pinhead sized impressions here & there. For a 10 year old instrument it is very clean & has been well looked after. The sale includes a shaped hard case, this has seen some action & is well marked with a broken catch. However, it is structurally sound & built like a brick outhouse - I'm told it's made by the same Canadian company that makes the current Gibson cases. A new Japanese ES120 is well over £1000 now which is still less than half the price of a Gibson ES 335. I don't understand why anyone would pay >£2k just to enter the roulette game that is Gibson's quality control when Tokai do it better for less. This guitar represents a huge saving for any read more
