Rare 2-Tone Chinese Bakelite Mahjongg Set This is a vintage mahjong set circa 1930's. It is clean, well preserved with excellent paint. The wafers have few if any scratches. This set has had little playing time. There are 152 green wafer back and yellow tiles. There are 8 sequenced flowers, 36 dots, 36 craks, 36 bams. There are four each of the NEWS winds. There are 4 each of the red, green, white dragons and 8 jokers that have been picked to match the set. The jokers are stickered with CHarli's beautiful green vase making the set ready for Asian or NMJL, western or American play. Each tile is 1 1/8 x 7/8 x 1/2 inch. One of the nine bams has a tiny nick on the top corner. It is barely noticeable and does not effect play what so ever. I have tried to use pictures that display the exquisite carvings on these vintage tiles. This set was part of my personal collection that I have decided to sell. The wafer back sets are second only to an enrobed set. This set is truly beauty! Along with the set are two 9/16 bright green dice and a red and green bettor that turns nicely. There are 4 18 1/4" matching green racks, the brass ends work nicely and there is just a tiny bit of tarnish. All are housed in a striking new black faux alligator case.
