L'EROE DI PLASTICA / DANZA DEI BOTTONI ... 7-inch, 45rpm promo single by TONY ESPOSITO. Original Italian pressing on the NUMERO UNO label (ZN 50341) , from 1975. Ultra obscure and outstanding double-sider from Italy's funkiest drummer with group. Still practically unknown on 7-inch format. Killer B-Boy drums / dusty fingers style hip hop beats throughout Esposito's brilliant L'EROE DI PLASTICA theme. Great for DJs with endless loops featuring sleazy bassline riffs / wonky moog electronics / exotic percussion / echoed handclaps and jazz horns too. Obsessive music like that Okay Temiz - Penguin tune. Sampled in hip hop by Freakniks on Plasmic Head / High & Mighty on Home Field Advantage and in Italy by Melma e Merda aka Kaos One / Deda and Sean for their Too Xigen rap tune . L'EROE DI PLASTICA was also comped by Soul Jazz Records for their influential London Jazz Classics series. The b-side DANZA DEI BOTTONI is also superb and is Toni's homage to Africa. Shades of Fela Kuti and an extended head trip of afro jazz and funk built around treated fender rhodes / hypnotic breakbeat drums and popping percussion. The 2 very best trax from the otherwise common Lp but the promo single is near impossible to find now. Very rare 45!!!
