Out of print 1989 ADDA disc of piano works by visionary organist-composer Charles Tournemire (1870 - 1939). CT was a pupil of Franck, and combines the weightiness of that composer with the colors of impressionism, prefiguing Messiaen. The 1932 suite of Douze Preludes-Poemes op.58 are among his most impressionist works, drifting in clouds of shimmery notes, but in some sections like "Adolescence" and "Passions humaines" he gets quite forceful, though the extended palette is still that of impressionism. Georges Delvallee is the pianist. You can listen to excerpts from the 2000 Accord rerelease of the CD (now also out of print) here . Disc, booklet, and case are in mint condition.
