This listing is for the following; A super heavy sterling silver ornament, made by Towle Medallic Art, and marked so, this ornament weighs over 2 Troy Oz. of sterling silver, a total of 66 grams. It is a finely detailed depiction of the Vatican's 'Pieta' and this was commissioned by the Vatican for the 1964 World's Fair in New York. This can also be worn as a pendant, although it is rather large, 2 1/2" in diameter. It would need an extremely heavy chain to hold it. It is in excellent condition, with only slight, very slight surface scratches. This is a eally wonderful collector's piece. I am selling a collection of several hundred Sterling silver ornaments, Gorham, Reed & Barton, Towle, Wallace, Hand & Hammer, Buccellati, Lunt, MFA, MMA, etc. They will include the snowflakes , American Heritage Society, 12 Days of Christmas, virtually all types of ornaments made by the above. Condition will be be fine to excellent, some in original boxes, with papers and some MIB.
