You are bidding on a Discontinued Plastic Figure of Vintage STARLUX OF FRANCE Toy Soldiers, FRENCH AIR CAVALRY PARATROOPERS WEARING RED BERETS, MORTAR WITH TWO MAN CREW, ONE PARATROOPER LOADING MORTAR, AND ONE PARATROOPER FIRING MORTAR. Made in France the late 1960's by STARLUX. ThESE plastic FIGURES ARE 2 1/4" INCHES tall, 1/32 SCALE, 54mm scale hand-painted plastic Traditional toy soldiers with original stamped base. "STARLUX FRANCE" is molded into the bottom of each hard polystyrene base. Starlux of France originally produced composition figures. After the war they began to issue injection molded plastic figures in 20mm, 40mm, and 60mm scales. The time periods issured covered Gauls, Modern Soldiers, Space figures, Prehistoric Times and Pirates. The Starlux legacy can be traced back to Elie Tarroux, who created a small toy factory in 1900. She created, molded, and decorated soldiers made from a mixture of adhesive and precipitated chalk. For 38 years Pierre Beffara work with Tarroux. In 1945, Beffara created Starlux. He gave up the chalk for plastics and developed an injection process for his figures. Starlux began operating in Périgueux in 1947.
