You are bidding on a Discontinued Plastic Figure of Vintage STARLUX OF FRANCE ToySoldiers, HUSSAR 4TH REGIMENT TROMPETTE 1807-1808. Made in France the late 1960's by STARLUX. STILL IN IT'S ORIGINAL STARLUX BOX. This plastic figure #FH60308. 60mm scale (6cm) 2 1/2" INCHES tall hand-painted plastic Traditional toy soldiers with original stamped base. "STARLUX FRANCE" is molded into the bottom of each hard polystyrene base. Starlux of France originally produced composition figures. After the war they began to issue injection molded plastic figures in 20mm, 40mm, and 60mm scales. The time periods issured covered Gauls, Modern Soldiers, Space figures, Prehistoric Times and Pirates. The Starlux legacy can be traced back to Elie Tarroux, who created a small toy factory in 1900. She created, molded, and decorated soldiers made from a mixture of adhesive and precipitated chalk. For 38 years Pierre Beffara work with Tarroux. In 1945, Beffara created Starlux. He gave up the chalk for plastics and developed an injection process for his figures. Starlux began operating in Périgueux in 1947. The Napoleonic Wars were a series of conflicts declared against Napoleon's French Empire and changing sets of European allies by opposing coalitions that ran from 1803 to 1815. As a continuation of the wars sparked by the French Revolution of 1789, they revolutionized European armies and played out on an unprecedented scale, mainly due to the application of modern mass conscription. French power rose quickly, conquering most of Europe, but collapsed rapidly after France's disastrous invasion of Russia in 1812. Napoleon's empire ultimately suffered complete military defeat resulting in the restoration of the Bourbon monarchy in France. The wars resulted in the dissolution of the Holy Roman Empire and sowed the seeds of nascent nationalism in Germany and Italy that would lead to the two nations' consolidation later in the century. Meanwhile the Spanish Empire began to unravel as French occupation of Spain weakened Spain's hold over its colonies, providing an opening for nationalist revolutions in Spanish America. As a direct result of the Napoleonic wars the British Empire became the foremost world power for the next century,thus beginning Pax Britannica.
