This face jug measures 12" tall and is approximately 1 gallon. Beautiful alkaline glaze is inside and out marked with Catawba Valley seal, GM, GaryMitchell and 26, signifying the 26th burning of the wood kiln. Mint condition!Gary Makes traditional Catawba Valley Pottery just the way it was in the 1800's. Digging clay from his back yard that is turned on a foot powdered treadle wheel then it is wood fired in a Ground Hog Kiln. He uses the same Alkaline glaze which is a Catawba Valley trait and it can be compared to any Old Time Pottery.
